This study provides an analysis of Patricia Benner's "From Novice to Expert" theory, outlining the development of nursing competence in five stages. Its strengths include clear descriptions and emphasis on direct experience. Despite laying the foundation for understanding nursing development, the theory faces criticism for its generalizations and insufficient consideration of individual differences and other factors influencing nursing skill development.
